TIPS FOR TAKING & SENDING US YOUR PHOTOS
Top 3 Tips:

If possible, take your photos outdoors in natural light, but not bright direct sunlight, as you may get shadowing on the face. An overcast day or under a verandah is a good option.

Take your photo at the eye level of the subject.

Get in close - eye to eye contact will give more depth to their expression.
Try and fill the frame without cutting off the top of their head or hands and feet. This is important for our fantasy images, but not so important for some of the other designs we offer.
Other Useful Photography Tips:

Get your subject involved in the shoot to make them interested. Be quick, so that your subject doesn't lose interest.

Be patient - with digital cameras you can easily and quickly take lots of shots until you get the best photo possible.

Have your camera set to the highest quality possible

Lock the focus onto the subject, so that you don't end up with a nice crisp image of the tree in background and a blurry child in the foreground.

Try some candid shots so you don't always end up with photos of the person looking straight at the camera or 'posing'. Try taking photos of your subject working or playing or just relaxing.

Finish on a good note, so that next time they are happy to be photographed again and not be scared off by the experience!
Sending Photos: You can either upload your photos on our website when ordering or you can email them to us at info@artfulimages.com.au. If emailing, make sure that you send the original, full size, uncropped photo file and that you attach it as a FILE attachment if you are given the option of attaching a FILE or PHOTO.
You can also post us your photos or slides for us to scan for you. We offer this as a free service for up to 10 photos. For 11 or more photos or slides, we charge a flat rate of $35. Please contact us at info@artfulimages.com.au for more info and address details for posting.
Scanning Photos: Please set your scanner to a resolution of at least 300dpi to ensure that you get a good, print quality scan.
